Our reception and clinical staff are united in the effort to deliver excellent dental service and to make each patient as comfortable as possible, at every appointment. Chris has a particular interest in extractions, oral surgery, implants, aesthetics, children and trauma.
Dr Scott Preston
General Dentist
Scott is a warm, charismatic dentist who believes the foundation of dentistry is education and prevention.
Scott studied Dentistry at Griffith University, graduating with a Bachelor of Oral Health in Dental Science and a Graduate Diploma of Dentistry.
Scott enjoys all aspects of general dentistry with a particular interest in extractions, oral surgery, root canal and aesthetic cases.
Dr Anjaneya Gupta
General Dentist
Anjaneya graduated from James Cook University in 2022 and joined our Practice in January 2023.
Anjaneya enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, including root canal treatment, crowns and oral surgery, with a particular interests in oral surgery and cosmetic work. Anjaneya takes a holistic approach to dentistry, and believes in delivering exceptional dentistry through his gentle and warm personality.
Out of the dental clinic, Anjaneya enjoys hiking and travelling, and playing sports like soccer and tennis.

Moving from rural Guangxi, China, to Australia at the age of 13 taught me a lot about the differences in standards of living and health outcomes, and what is fair and achievable. I’m academically driven and was honored to be the Dux of my class in both high school and at James Cook University, where my dedication to learning was recognized with the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons Academic Prize. As part of my journey toward becoming a specialist, I’ve undertaken and received commendation for excelling in the MRACDS exam, a crucial step in my pursuit of specialist training.

Dr Maayer Malick
General Dentist
Growing up in Charters Towers, North Queensland, Maayer completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery at James Cook University. He is passionate about providing high-quality care across general dentistry, with particular interest in cosmetic and restorative dentistry, root canal treatment, extractions, and oral surgery. Maayer also enjoys working with children, ensuring a comfortable and positive dental experience for young patients.

His patients know him for his kind, gentle and Maayer’s nature, and he tailors care to meet each individual’s needs, putting his best efforts into every procedure to achieve optimal outcomes. Being of Pakistani descent, he is also able to communicate with patients in Urdu and Hindi.
Outside of dentistry, Maayer enjoys travel and spending time with friends. He is also teaching himself piano and saxophone, and stays active playing tennis and cricket.
Kacey Patel
Oral Health Therapist, Practice Manager
With an extensive background in the dental industry, Kacey has completed her Certificate III in Dental Assisting, a diploma in Professional Practice Management and most recently completed her Bachelor of Oral Health Therapy.
Kacey takes a keen interest in providing patients with the ‘hygienist’ clean feeling as well as educating patients on effective oral hygiene routines.

Ashley joined Budi Dental in February 2022. She brings with her a wealth of knowledge & professionalism from previously working in the medical industry. Ashley loves the hustle & bustle of a busy practice, engaging with our patients & helping them with their needs.
Outside of work she enjoys outdoor activities & quality time with family. We are lucky to have her vibrant personality on our reception team.

Ainsley has been a receptionist for a couple of years now and joined our team at the start of March 2023. She enjoys all aspects of Dentistry, especially building relationships with our regular patients and is always more than happy to help where she can.
