Fillings
Budi Dental is an amalgam free clinic. Instead, we use only the highest quality composite resin (white filling) materials to restore your teeth while achieving a highly aesthetic result. We match the colour of the filling to your tooth, making it practically invisible.
In addition to new restorations, tooth coloured fillings can be used to substitute old metal fillings to achieve an attractive, natural looking smile. Metal fillings can give a dull, grey appearance to not only the tooth with the filling, but also the adjacent teeth.
Faq’s related to fillings and inlays
How long do fillings last?
The position, shape, material and functional pressure all contribute to how long a filling will last. Large fillings that bear the brunt of chewing tend to break down more quickly than smaller fillings ,whereas a small filling away from biting pressure may last decades. A good at-home oral hygiene practise aids in the prevention of decay re-affecting the tooth.
What is the difference between a filling to an inlay?
An inlay is made by a dental technician especially to fit your tooth and occlusion. It is made from porcelain or gold and will last longer than composite resin, as the inlay material is more durable.
